We just learned we got a grant from the Twin Cities chapter of the Awesome Foundation, a micro-grant initiative in which local bands of trustees become modern-day grassroots philanthropists to fund people and groups working on awesome projects, ranging from the arts, technology, community development and more.
“Many awesome projects are novel or experimental, and evoke surprise and delight,” according to the organization’s website.
We think the St. Paul Snowblower Ballet will fit that definition. Thank you Awesome!
The $1,000 grant will help fund a performance of the Snowblower Ballet at the Art Shanty Projects on Saturday, Feb. 25, 3 p.m., on White Bear Lake.
And the Awesome Grant it will help match our Knight Foundation Arts Challenge Grant to produce a larger version of the Snowblower Ballet in St. Paul at the end of January 2018. That performance we hope will be part of the St. Paul Winter Carnival and the rest of the Great Northern hoopla to show off Minnesota during the winter during Super Bowl LII week.
We’re still fundraising to match our Knight Grant and to pay for dancers and snowblowers. If you or your organization is interested in being a sponsor of the St. Paul Snowblower Ballet, contact us at 651-336-6975 or firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks.
